Beginning February 20, 2017 and culminating in a thrilling finale on April 10, 16 chefs from the Triangle and beyond competed by pairs to win the grand prize, a restored classic ’69 Corvette.
Guests enjoyed evening after evening of culinary competition, voting for their favorites. Each event also featured celebrity judges such as local TV and radio personalities, chefs and restaurateurs, food writers, and executives from local government, businesses and arts organizations. By the time the finale rolled around on April 10, chefs Rich Carter of Catering Works and Troy Stauffer of City Club Raleigh were well-versed in pleasing the crowd. Carter won the car, but as many in the crowd noted, “The real winners were the children” whose mental, emotional and social struggles were at the heart of the fund raiser.
