Cary, NC -- The Lucy Daniels Center (LDC), the Triangle's largest provider of children's mental health services, is proud to once again collaborate with Wake County SmartStart on its SecurePath program for 2016-17.
The announcement was made by Wake County SmartStart on May 19.
SecurePath provides services in both English and Spanish to families whose children are experiencing mental or emotional difficulties. The goal of the program is to reach children ages birth to 5 in their home or child-care setting, with a particular focus on families who do not have insurance coverage or are receiving Medicaid.
According to Pam Dowdy, Executive Director of SmartStart, the collaboration between the two agencies is to "ensure that every child begins school healthy and ready to learn."
Dr. Donald Rosenblitt, Clinical/Executive Director at LDC, expressed his thanks to Wake County SmartStart for "over a decade of close partnership meeting the mental health needs of young children from underserved populations."
