Cary, North Carolina, April 15, 2010 - Executive Chef Scott Crawford will host three of the region’s best chefs on May 17th.  Ashley Christensen from Poole’s Diner in Raleigh, NC, Jim Anile from Revolution Restaurant in Durham, NC and Vivian Howard from Chef & The Farmer in Kinston, NC will each create one of the evening’s five courses. The Umstead’s Pastry Chef Daniel Benjamin will prepare the dessert course. Crawford, who is looking forward to collaborating with these talented, hand-picked chefs, has asked each to prepare a dish using one of their favorite local ingredients for this special wine-paired chef’s tasting dinner this Spring. 

A generous portion of the evening’s proceeds will be gifted to The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood in Cary, North Carolina.  The Center is the largest and most comprehensive nonprofit organization devoted to promoting the healthy emotional development of young children in the North Carolina Triangle region, serving about 700 children and their families annually.  For more information about The Center visit  The Umstead Hotel and Spa and Herons are thrilled to be partnering with this organization for this special evening.
