Cary, NC - April 12, 2010 - The Lucy Daniels Center announced today the top sponsors for the inaugural event and fundraiser Lucy’s Book Club presents: Bookmarked! A celebration of reading with children.
Cargill, The Umstead Hotel and Spa and Herons, The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation, Finley Commercial Realtors, AlphaGraphics, Clancy & Theys Construction Company, Kilpatrick Stockton LLC, Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLC, and Time Warner Cable have all made generous monetary or gift-in-kind donations for the Bookmarked! event. The festival, will take place May 22 – June 6, 2010, and will feature a Lucy’s Book Club book fair at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh and more than 20 celebrity hero readings for young children and their parents at venues across Wake County. The festivities will culminate with An Evening with Judith Viorst, a fund raising lecture, book signing, and reception at Peace College.

The presenting sponsor, Cargill, is located in Raleigh and is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services. This latest donation to the Bookmarked! Fundraiser is just another example of how Cargill is committed to working together with a diverse group of partners to support responsible economic development and to bring positive, measurable improvements to the communities where they live and work.

- Event Sponsors: $10,000 will help cover the cost of 375 therapy sessions
- Platinum Sponsors: $5,000 will help cover the cost of 165 therapy sessions
- Gold Sponsors: $2,500 will help cover the costs of 80 therapy sessions
- Silver Sponsors: $1,000 will help cover the cost of 35 therapy sessions
- Bronze Sponsors: $500 will help will help cover the cost of 17 therapy sessions
- Supporters: $250 will help will help cover the cost of 8 therapy sessions
Benefits include premium seats to the June 6, “An Evening with Judith Viorst,” and recognition and visibility throughout the two-week festival. Bookmarked! sponsors will also be recognized as sponsors of the Lucy’s Book Club throughout the 2010-2011 year.
