Volunteer teams are always needed for our day-to-day operations and Center maintenance.

  • Kitchen: general clean-up, wiping down open shelving and reorganizing items (1-2 people, 3-4 hours)
  • Off-site storage unit: Remove and recycle boxes of outdated materials. Recycling center is just 2 miles from the Center. A truck or van would be needed. (5-6 people, 3-4 hours)
  • Toy/furniture refurbishment: Individuals can take home a tricycle, set of wooden children’s chairs, or box of toys and provide much-needed cleaning, or simple repairs.
  • Playground: General clean-up and mulching around swings and playground equipment, sweep out storage shed
  • Campus grounds: (these can be separate projects)
    • Spread pine straw in natural areas around the campus (10-12 people, 4-6 hours)
    • Nature trail clean-up; trim overgrowth and clear pathway (6-8 people, 4 hours)
    • Power wash concrete around the Center
  • Interior painting of classroom: Late July, early August while school is closed for 3 weeks break (10-12 people for 1 day or 2 half days)
  • Children’s library Data Entry: Seeking individuals to enter new books into our library software. (one person at a time; can work anytime during the day from 9:00am-4:00pm in 1-2 hr shifts)
  • Teaching Garden: We are looking for individuals who would volunteer to tend to the garden by weeding, planting, watering, etc. Work can be done afterhours or on weekends.
