Held at Beginning & Beyond Child Development Center (part of NC State’s Natural Learning Initiative), The Kaleidoscope Project (funded by John Rex Endowment), is “bringing together voices and experiences that represent a wide range of Wake County’s child-focused community, and combines real-world expertise with pioneering policy initiatives.” The project proposes to make practical improvements to chlld-friendly spaces across Wake County, and to develop best practices “to develop and enhance the contribution of children’s places and spaces to the positive mental health of children.”

Kaleidoscope is dedicated to:
- Improving the social and emotional well-being of children from birth to 8 years old
- Implementing strategies that will have a positive influence on vulnerable Wake County children
- Inspiring and catalyzing more widespread community action
Lucy Daniels Center is proud to be a part of this project. Our Director of Operations, Deb Mugno, is on the Steering committee, and other LDC staff are involved in various initiatives.We look forward to this continued great work in Wake County, and in making practical and lasting improvements in our communities.
